April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month S.A.A.M.

Researchers consistently have found that approximately one-half of all sexual assaults are committed by men who have been drinking alcohol. Depending on the sample studied and the measures used, the estimates for alcohol use among perpetrators have ranged from 34 to 74 percent. SOURCE: National Institute on Alcohol and Alcohol Abuse

About I AM S.A.A.M.

Survive2Thrive is partnering with The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA), local breweries and distilleries for our second annual I AM S.A.A.M. campaign for Sexual Assault Awareness Month observed in April. Intoxication ≠ Consent is the message! We feel that hearing this powerful message from those who manufacture alcohol, beer, and spirits, will send a message of unity and agreement that sexual assault is not acceptable in any situation or scenario!

Anytime someone is forced to have sex against their will, they have been sexually assaulted, regardless of whether or not they fought back or said "no."
